Today I went to the city to pick up my shirts for the Race for Cure. This annual run/walk in St. Louis raises money for breast cancer research and treatment. Last year I walked for my dad. Although he did not have breast cancer, he died of pancreatic cancer. A cure for one kind of cancer could lead to a cure for ALL cancer.
This year I'm walking for the little princess growing inside of me. It is my hope that breast cancer will be a curable disease in her lifetime and that her children may never know the devastation that cancer brings.
